Pricing

Plans start at $99/month.

$5 per asset after your first 5 and tools metered in blocks of 50. Standard software is capped at $299/month under published fair-use thresholds. Premium API access, optional hardware, and custom terms above those thresholds are separate.

Built for 10–50 asset construction & mixed fleets. Too small for enterprise telematics overhead, too operationally serious for guesswork.

Unlimited users included — no per-seat tax. Bring the whole crew.

Standard software cap

$299/ month

$990–$2,990/yr on annual prepay

  • Unlimited user accounts on standard plans — no per-seat meter under the published fair-use thresholds.
  • Bounded both ends: $5/asset past your first 5, $19 per 50 tools past your first 50. Standard software is capped at $299under the published fair-use thresholds. Premium API access, optional hardware, and custom high-volume terms are separate. Attachments, kit contents, and consumables never meter.
  • Named integrations — live CSV / PDF exports today; QuickBooks Online, WEX, Geotab, and Samsara on the honest roadmap (see board). Premium APIs available as a +$29/mo org-wide add-on if you need them.
  • Hardware (optional diagnostic tracker, target Mid-2027): one-time buy or lease when SKUs publish — not required to use DirtFleet Hours.

Fair use policy

DirtFleet is priced to be simple and predictable for the vast majority of fleets. Standard software plans include unlimited user accounts and are capped at $299/month under the thresholds below. The cap applies to the standard software subscription; premium API access, optional hardware, and custom high-volume terms are separate.

For organizations with more than 1,500 active assets or more than 200 active user accounts, we may require a custom plan to provide appropriate performance, support, and onboarding. If your fleet is above these thresholds, please contact us and we'll work with you on a tailored solution.

Illustrative sizing

  • Small crew — 10 assets, 40 tools$99/mo minimum
  • Typical mixed fleet — 25 assets, 60 tools$119/mo
  • Top of the sweet spot — 50 assets, 150 tools$263/mo
  • Larger standard-plan fleet — cap reached$299/mo

List rates shown; actual invoice follows your cadence and any grandfathered beta agreement.

DirtFleet is maintenance documentation, PM, and asset tracking — pricing here does not buy an FMCSA-certified ELD or interstate HOS product. Regulatory questions belong with FMCSA guidance or a retained compliance professional.

Two months free on annual prepay — pay for 10 months, get 12. One charge, one renewal, same band.

Metered plan

Priced per asset and per tool — with a floor and a ceiling.

You pay for the iron and the tools you actually track, never for people. The bill lives between $99 and $299 a month for standard software under the published fair-use thresholds. The list-rate meter reaches the cap at roughly 65 assets.

Starts at

$99/ mo

Covers your first 5 assets and 50 tools before the meter starts. A three-machine shop pays this and nothing more.

Then you meter

$5/ asset / mo

Tools meter in blocks — $19 per 50, because a tool crib is not a fleet. Annual prepay charges 10 months for twelve.

Standard software cap

$299/ mo

Applies under the published fair-use thresholds. Premium API access, optional hardware, and custom high-volume terms are separate.

What counts

  • Billable assets — the machines and trucks you actually run PM against.
  • Standalone tools — the plate compactor, the welder, the core drill. Counted in blocks of 50.

What never does

  • Attachments — a CAT 320 with three buckets and a thumb is one asset, not five. Unchanged from day one.
  • Kit contents and consumables — a socket set is one tool, and nobody pays per grinding wheel.

Users are still unlimited and still free. Every operator, mechanic, and foreman on the payroll, at every tier. A crew member costs us nothing to carry, so charging for one would be a tax rather than a price — and the whole product depends on the crew actually logging.

Where that lands

  • Fleet maintenance SaaS (Fleetio)~mid-tens / asset / mo

Per-asset and uncapped — the bill grows with every unit you add, and tool tracking is a different product entirely.

  • Enterprise telematics (Samsara, Motive)~$25–$50+ / vehicle / mo

Commonly cited public range before camera or compliance add-ons, typically on a 3–5 year term. Confirm on the vendor site.

  • Spreadsheet + clipboard$0 / asset / mo

Genuinely cheaper, until the first missed PM interval or the first warranty claim you can't document.

DirtFleet, 25 assets and 60 tools$4.76 / asset / mo

Competitor figures are commonly cited public ranges as of 2026, not quotes — SKUs, terms, and add-ons move, so confirm with the vendor. The comparison is deliberately unflattering to us where it should be: those platforms carry FMCSA-certified ELD and DOT compliance products that DirtFleet does not sell.

Draft rates for discussion — not a published SKU. Beta agreements price at or below whatever publishes. The optional hardware tracker (target Mid-2027) is a separate future product with its own line; it does not change the rates above. Fleets already on an older plan keep their grandfathered rate.

Pricing philosophy

Between the cheap-tracker race-to-the-bottom and enterprise bloat.

Per-user pricing punishes you for having a crew. We price the fleet as one subscription — simple enough for the office and the pit — with fair use so the product stays fast for everyone.

  • Solves forgotten end-of-day logs with gentle reminders—not nagware.
  • Photo OCR can suggest a reading; the operator still confirms or edits it.
  • Zero training: open app, tap asset, enter reading, done.
  • Offline-capable for remote yards: logs queue on device; UI often readable without signal.
  • Repair flags route field problems to the mechanic queue.
  • The operator flow stays narrow instead of exposing the full feature set.
  • Unlimited users removes the “who pays for operators?” fight.
  • Flat fleet pricing builds trust with finance — no spreadsheet to renegotiate every hire.

Tool tracking — included

Hand tools, power tools, kits, consumables. Same subscription.

Tool tracking is part of the plan, not a separate product to buy. Your first 50 tools are included; past that they meter in blocks of 50, and kit contents and consumables never count at all. QR / NFC scans, low-stock alerts, PM tracking, and checkout utilization reports all ship at every tier. If you can manage the fleet, you can manage the plate compactors, generators, and welders right next to it.

See the tool tracking module →

Hardware tracker · Target Mid-2027

Optional. Opt-in. Same fleet subscription.

Software-only fleets pay the rates above and nothing else. If you want telemetry later, you can add the DirtFleet tracker — a diagnostic-port unit that supports up to three optional cameras and talks to the same dashboard. Hardware is a one-time per-unit cost alongside the same flat software subscription; no separate platform fee or enterprise-style rollout.

Final per-unit hardware pricing publishes as we freeze BOM and certifications ahead of the Mid-2027 ship target. Software-only fleets are not affected — see Integrations for software connectivity today.

FAQ

Pricing questions

How much does DirtFleet cost?

Standard software starts at $99 per month and is capped at $299 per month under the published fair-use thresholds. The $99 minimum covers your first 5 assets and 50 tools; past that it is $5 per asset per month and $19 per additional block of 50 tools. Premium API access, optional hardware, and custom terms above 1,500 active assets or 200 active users are separate.

Do I need to enter a credit card to start the trial?

No. New organizations get 30 days free when you sign up — no card required up front. Your trial end date appears on the dashboard and in Settings; add a payment method there when you are ready to subscribe.

Do you charge per user or per seat?

Standard plans do not meter individual seats. User accounts are unlimited under the published fair-use threshold of 200 active users; larger organizations move to custom terms for support and onboarding capacity.

What counts toward the bill and what doesn't?

Billable assets (the machines and trucks you run PM against) and standalone tools count. Attachments never count — a CAT 320 with three buckets and a thumb is one asset, not five. On the tool side, kit contents and consumables never count, so a socket set is one tool and nobody pays per grinding wheel.

Annual vs month-to-month — and what about mid-cycle billing?

Annual prepay charges 10 months for 12, so the same band runs $990 to $2,990 per year. Month-to-month runs $99 to $299 per month. Switch cadences anytime — annual prepay is prorated against unused months if you leave, and adding users never triggers a mid-cycle charge because users are free.

Can I import my data from Fleetio, Samsara, or a spreadsheet?

Yes. CSV/XLSX bulk import is built in (assets, hours, projects, tools, yards), and we ship migration scripts for Fleetio (handles their ZIP-of-CSVs export), generic CSV, and Whip Around. We help you map columns on a kickoff call so the trial starts with your real fleet, not a demo set.

Can I cancel?

Anytime. Export to CSV/PDF on your way out. Annual subscribers get prorated refunds for unused months.

Will you change the listed price later?

Marketing list rates are posted on dirtfleet.app/pricing. Your subscription terms are what you confirm at billing time in Stripe — we don't hide fees or surprise tiers.

Is DirtFleet cheaper than Fleetio or Samsara for a 20–40 asset dirt fleet?

Often, for maintenance-only needs: DirtFleet is bounded $99–$299/mo with unlimited users. Fleetio and telematics suites are frequently quote-driven per asset or per vehicle, sometimes with seat add-ons. Compare total cost for your crew size on dirtfleet.app/compare and confirm competitor quotes — we don't invent their invoices.

Does the price include offline hour logging and photo-of-meter?

Yes. Typed or photo meter capture, offline queue for hour drafts, flags, and hour-based PM are part of DirtFleet Hours — not paid add-on modules. See dirtfleet.app/resources/offline-meter-logging.

Do I pay extra for mixed fleets (excavators + pickups)?

No separate product. Engine-hour assets and odometer assets share one subscription and one bill. Read dirtfleet.app/resources/mixed-fleet-meters for how crews log both without two systems.
